The Kirkpatrick Foundation has invested in research initiatives focused on education and arts education for more than a decade. Studies have been conducted by qualified teams who have demonstrated success in examining these area of interest to the Foundation. They are affiliated with universities or independent firms and have focused on best practice, staffing, curriculum and instruction in K-12 schools in the Oklahoma City area. Executive Summaries of Foundation-supported studies are presented here with the hope that their findings and recommendations will:

1.     Serve as a springboard for additional study;

2.     Provide evidence-based strategies for use by teachers and administrators;

3.     Advance the standing of arts education in the K-12 curriculum.
