Do You Qualify? The Kirkpatrick Foundation grants support to organizations with projects and programs that compliment the mission of the foundation, within its areas of interest: arts and culture, education, animal welfare, and the environment. Grant proposals are considered only from not-for-profit organizations that qualify as public charities under section 501©(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. Organizations should have at least a three-year track record of programming and must maintain current financial records. A working board of directors as well as management, governance, and accountability structure must be in place. We encourage organizations to develop a three-year strategic plan and demonstrate 100% board giving. The foundation considers requests from public and private educational institutions as well as faith-based educational programs. Priority is given to organizations serving the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. Organizations less than three years old, or those requesting $10,000 or less in funding, may submit a small grant request (see below). Capital campaigns and endowments are not currently funded by the Kirkpatrick Foundation. Multi-year projects are typically not considered. Grants may not be used to fund indirect costs or foundation fees. Grants are not awarded to the following:
