A New York native, Meg Salyer has made her home in Oklahoma City for the last twenty-five years. She is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College, having also completed two years of study abroad at the University of London and the Université Libre de Bruxelles and Franklin College in Lugano, Switzerland. Ms. Salyer began her professional career as a corporate loan officer with the Chase Manhattan Bank in New York. Today, she is president of Accel Financial Staffing, a personnel service providing contract, contract-to-hire, and direct placement of employees specializing in accounting and finance careers. Ms. Salyer serves as the Ward 6 councilperson for the City of Oklahoma City and is a member of the Oklahoma City Riverfront Redevelopment Authority, Oklahoma City Sport Facilities Oversight Board, and Downtown School Site Selection committee. Ms. Salyer served Oklahoma City in a number of ways before joining the council, including ten years on the Citizen’s Committee for Community Development. She has been a member of the Oklahoma City Economic Development Trust and was the first woman president of the Rotary Club of Oklahoma City (2003-2004), the third largest Rotary Club in the world. She was appointed by Governor Henry to serve a two-year term on the Oklahoma Partnership for School Readiness Board (Smart Start Oklahoma). She also led the team that established the Automobile Alley Main Street Program and recently served as Treasurer of Downtown Oklahoma City, Inc. Ms. Salyer serves on the board of the Oklahoma School of Science and Math Foundation and the Oklahoma Heritage Association. She is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma, Leadership Oklahoma City, and is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Oklahoma City. < back |
