Bob Anthony retired in January 2025 after completing his sixth six-year term as an Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner. His 36 years as a Constitutional state officer make Anthony the longest-serving statewide-elected officeholder in Oklahoma history.

He has previously served as a member of the board of directors for the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners and chair of the National Regulatory Research Institute. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania; a Master of Science from the London School of Economics; a Master of Arts from Yale University; and a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University. Bob served as staff economist for the US House of Representatives Interior and Insular Affairs Committee (now called the Natural Resources Committee), Oklahoma City Council Ward 2 council member, vice mayor, and president of C.R. Anthony Company retail stores, then the largest privately-owned firm headquartered in Oklahoma. All four of Anthony’s grandparents came to Oklahoma before statehood. His father was born in Cleveland, Oklahoma, and his mother grew up in Enid. Bob and his wife, Nancy, were married in 1975. They are the parents of four daughters and have six grandchildren.
