April Marciszewski

April Marciszewski serves as Senior Editor for Kirkpatrick philanthropies and companies. She found the seed of her career at age 12, when she began writing for the local newspaper. She still believes in the power of professional journalism to hold power to account and uphold democracy—but also to help us get to know our neighbors and understand we’re all human, in this together.

After primarily covering higher education as a journalist, she returned to college and then worked for a decade as a graphic designer, specializing in publications. She led several arts-, community-, and advocacy-focused volunteer groups and projects, which opened the door to creating Oklahoma City University’s donor relations program from scratch. In that role, she put many systems in place and helped donors understand the impact of their gifts. Now at the Kirkpatrick entities, April works in all facets of communications and project management, helping advance missions, imagine new possibilities, and build community.
