Published by Kirkpatrick Foundation, ArtDesk is a quarterly print publication focusing on the contemporary arts, including painting, sculpture, photography, installation, dance, film, music, and architecture. Christian Keesee serves as publisher; Louisa McCune as editor in chief; Larry Keigwin as dance editor; and Alana Salisbury as managing editor. Contributors include Ed Ruscha, Jenny Holzer, Claus Oldenberg, Donald Kuspit, and Carol Kino; profiles have included articles on such luminaries as Damian Woetzel, Spencer Finch, Edward Burtynsky, and Joel Shapiro and organizations including the Foundation for Art and Preservation in Embassies (FAPE) and the Metropolitan's new Met Breuer building. ArtDesk is distributed free of charge in Oklahoma, Texas, and Colorado.
Each issue of ArtDesk educates readers about the world of regional, national, and international contemporary art events, exhibits, and topics. The magazine also serves as a support publication for three intertwined organizations: Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center in Oklahoma City (formerly City Arts Center); Marfa Contemporary in Marfa, Texas; and Green Box Arts Festival in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado.
